How to Change the IP Address on Your Computer

Changing your computer's IP address can help you solve network connection problems or achieve a specific network configuration. Here are some simple steps to guide you on how to change your computer's IP address on the Windows operating system.


Step 1: Open Network Settings

1. Find the network connection icon in the Windows taskbar, right-click and select "Open Network and Internet Settings".

2. In the "Settings" window, select "Change adapter options".

3. In the "Network Connections" window, find the network connection you are currently using, right-click and select "Properties".


Step 2: Change IPv4 Settings

1. In the "Network Connection Properties" window, find "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)", select it and click "Properties".

2. In the "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties" window, select "Use the following IP address".

Step 3: Check the IP address changes

2. Enter the "ipconfig /release" and "ipconfig /renew" commands in the command prompt to release and renew the IP address to ensure that the changes are effective.
